Research Associate

Ben Bornstein was an evaluation researcher at the Jerusalem Institute for Policy Studies, with extensive experience in research and consulting for public and municipal bodies in the fields of policy, community and media.

In addition to being a research associate, Bornstein is the academic supervisor of the “The Challenge of Living Together” area, a cooperative between the Van Leer Institute and the Shaharit Institute, and a research associate at the Minerva Center at Haifa University.

Bornstein graduated with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in sociology from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, as well as fellow programs at The Israel Democracy Institute and the Menachem Begin Heritage Center. His research deals with political violence, social movements and social diversity, from the perspective of cultural sociology.
