Benny Fefferman joined the institute in early 2022 as a senior economic researcher.
Prior to joining the Institute, he worked as Director of the Research and Economics Administration at the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Labor and Welfare (1993-2016). As part of his work, he supervised and wrote evaluation studies and policy papers in the fields of social sciences and economics, and in particular on the labor market. He established and managed three projects and special programs at the request of ministers and ministries directors: the Headquarters for Integrating People with Disabilities in the Labor Market (2005-2012), the first program for integrating single parents into the labor market (2003-2004) and an immediate work plan for unemployed jobseekers and income support recipients (1997-1992).
After retiring from the public sector in 2016, he served as a consultant and researcher in the business sector and volunteered as chairman of the board of directors in the civilian sector.
Beni holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and statistics (1973) and a master’s degree in economics with a specialization in the labor market and human capital (1977) from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a master’s degree in sociology with a specialization in organizations and social change (2021) from Tel Aviv University.
