Michal began working at the Institute in 1997. She researches issues related to population and society in Jerusalem and evaluates social projects in the city. For years, Michal has been writing the Jerusalem: Facts and Trends publication together with Dr. Maya Choshen, using words, graphs, maps, and infographics to analyze the data presented in the Statistical Yearbook of Jerusalem. Another issue that has engaged Michal for over two decades is the migration from and to Jerusalem. Michal also lectures from time to time on the subject of the population in Jerusalem. Michal holds an MA (with honors) in geography, with a major in urban studies and a BA in Middle East studies and geography, both from the Hebrew University.
