Yaara Issar works as director of planning and development of public infrastructure in the East Jerusalem Promotion and Development Unit at the Ministry Of Jerusalem And Heritage. In this role, she works to drive occupational, infrastructural, and economical planning and development processes.
In her work at the Jerusalem Institute for Policy Research, she researched and mapped East Jerusalem neighborhoods in order to guide development policies for these neighborhoods. Additionally, she investigated the realm of shared spaces in Jerusalem and explored how, through urban planning tools, spaces can be designed to encourage positive encounters between sectors.
