Hanin Alyan is a Biomedical Sciences student specializing in Neuroscience at the Hebrew University, as well as a community activist from Beit Safafa in Jerusalem. Today, she serves as the Culture and Youth Coordinator and Emergency Coordinator at the Beit Safafa–Sharafat Community Council, as well as the Youth Supervisor for East Jerusalem at Magen David Adom. Hanin was the first female ambulance driver in East Jerusalem for Magen David Adom. As part of her work, she leads programs and initiatives in the fields of high-tech, sustainability, leadership, summer camps, firefighting training, and first aid, alongside projects to empower local youth and strengthen community resilience.

“For me, success is measured by the ability to create real change—seeing young people and community members discover their strengths, develop, lead, and make an impact on their communities. My work stems from a deep love for Beit Safafa, Jerusalem, and the society in which I live. I believe that true leadership is not measured by a job title, but by the ability to connect people, offer them opportunities, and lead processes that foster a safer, stronger, and more thriving community.”
