Murad holds a BA in geography and Middle East studies and an MA in urban and regional planning, both from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He was the planner for the Wadi El-Joz and Sheikh Jarrah neighborhoods as well as the East central business district in the Wadi El-Joz community center. Murad specializes in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and polling. He participates in various planning projects in East Jerusalem and in Area C of the West Bank, and he is involved in planning issues in East Jerusalem and placemaking projects.

Murad was involved in several of the Institute’s projects, including the Mapping East Jerusalem Project, where he wrote the studies on the Shoefat refugee camp, Sheikh Jarrah, and the East Jerusalem central business district; the East Jerusalem employment evaluation project for the East Jerusalem Development Authority; and a study on middle class employment in East Jerusalem.
