The 2011 Statistical Yearbook of Jerusalem was presented to Speaker of the Knesset, Reuven Rivlin, in his Knesset bureau. Dr. Maya Choshen editor of the Yearbook, expressed the main topics to Rivlin, highlighting topics such as population, employment, education, and religious characterization in Jerusalem. Jerusalem Institute’s director Meir Kraus and researcher Yair Assaf-Shapira also attended the meeting.

Rivlin, a longtime friend of the Jerusalem Institute made note of the contribution of the Institute, and in particular the Statistical Yearbook, to the creation of a database of facts essential to decision making.

The 2011 Statistical Yearbook published by the Jerusalem Institute is the 25th edition. It has been published since 1982 and presents a yearly statistical overview using graphs and ma to depict the activity in Jerusalem regarding a broad range of topics and the different trends that have occurred over time. The yearbook also compares Jerusalem to the rest of Israel, Tel Aviv, Haifa and communities surrounding Jerusalem.

This year, for the first time ever, data was published based on the population census held in 2008.
