The centrality of Jerusalem is embedded in our liturgy and culture, and wired in our Jewish emotions. How do we turn the strong feelings toward Jerusalem into viable strategies of her development and advancement? How should Jerusalem function as the cultural and spiritual center for all Jews? What is the meaning of Jerusalem as the Capital city for all Jews? Does world Jewry connect to the vibrant Hebrew culture and arts flourishing in Jerusalem or is the city a “museum theme park” of an ancient distant past?
The round table discussion will be an opportunity to address these questions. We will have an opportunity to learn about the findings from a study conducted by Dr. Elan Ezrachi on “Culture in Jerusalem and World Jewry”. Following the presentation there will be an open discussion on the policies and strategies that are required in order to ensure the centrality of Jerusalem for world Jewry.
