Dr. Ben-Gal joined the Jerusalem Institute at the end of November 2023 as Director of Organization and Operations (C.O.O.), responsible for the Institute’s finances, organization, and human resources. Ben Gal concluded his position in the institute in June 2024.

Ben-Gal is a doctor of Jewish History in the field of educational systems in Israel. He also has a bachelor’s degree in Jewish philosophy and computer science. He is also a graduate of the School for Educational Leadership – Mendel. He finished his reserve service as the reserve battalion commander of the I.T. and computer systems of the IDF’s Central Command.

Upon release from the paratroopers, he joined Kibbutz Ma’ale Gilboa. He started his family there and served in several positions for 14 years. After leaving the kibbutz, he managed the ‘Meimad’ movement and was the C.E.O. of Minister Amital’s office in the prime minister’s office.

After his studies at the Mendel Institute, he managed two high schools (‘Neva Shmuel’ and Orot Yehuda’) and a high school (‘Zeitlin’ – Tel Aviv). He later served as the director of professional and academic development at the Herzog College and later managed the Shlomo Hall – the Jewish Heritage Center in Jerusalem.

Before joining the Institute, during the past seven years, he founded and managed, together with Mr. Daniel Goldman, the organization ‘Leshem – Educational Projects’, which promotes and establishes ultra-orthodox high school yeshiva whose students study for full high school diplomas.

Yossi lives in Jerusalem. Father of four children and grandfather of granddaughters and grandsons.
