Researcher
Dr. Eliezer Hayun is a researcher in the Society and Populations Team, focusing on the ultra-Orthodox (Haredi) society. His work deals with a variety of topics, including education, academic studies, culture, collective memory, ethnicity, and bible teaching.
Eliezer holds a Ph.D. in Sociology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, an M.A in Sociology from Bar Ilan University, and a B.A in Psychology from Israel’s Open University.
In addition to his work in the Jerusalem Institute, Eliezer is a lecturer in Sociology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Open University. He writes for the “Judaism” section of the popular Ynet news website, and is among the editors of the Haredim10 website.
Moreover, Eliezer has authored a series of books about the Bible (published by “Dani Sfarim” publishing house), and is a graduate of the Kol Torah Yeshiva and Ateret Israel Yeshiva.
