Closing Conference on Targeted R&D Policy

The TARGET Consortium, a consortium consisting of 8 partners from 6 different countries within the EU Seventh Framework Programme for Research & Technology Development (“FP7”), held a closing conference to present the results of the project: the principles of a toolkit that is aimed at enabling a country or region to develop and to implement targeted R&D policies successfully as well as to take concrete policy making decisions. The closing conference will demonstrate the importance of targeting as an instrument for coping with global competition.

All relevant stakeholders presented the final results of the TARGET project with a focus on the effectiveness, valorization & transferability of the toolkit. At the conference, conclusions will be sought regarding effective policy coordination, design and implementation as well as the contribution of the toolkit to the Open Method of Coordination of R&D Policies.

Senior officials from, among others, the European Union, Israel, France, the United Kingdom and Lithuania took part in the event.

The conference was hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the State of Israel, the Coordinator of the TARGET Consortium.
