Dr. Maya Choshen is a senior research fellow at the Jerusalem Institute. She is an urban planner and geographer who specializes in the study of population and society in contemporary Jerusalem. She is the editor of the Statistical Yearbook of Jerusalem, which is published annually by the Institute, and is also a lecturer at the School of Education of the Hebrew University. Maya is a member of various steering, thinking, and planning committees in the fields of urban planning and education. In 1989 Dr. Choshen submitted to the Department of Geography of the Hebrew University her dissertation titled “Migration to the National Periphery: The Characteristics of the Migrants and Their Reasons for Migrating”.
